Web2test – Web Application Test Tool

itCampus has released version 1.2 of its web2test Web Application test tool. The tool allows for automated, functional testing of web applications and supports most of the established browsers from Internet Explorer to FireFox and Seamonkey.

General Features:

New Release 1.2.0 includes following features
* Highly flexible JavaScript bridge for:
o Access to JavaScript objects, functions, values, …
o Access to CSS-properties
* New package (itc.checks.style) in standard procedures with several new procedures for checking color- and font-attributes
* Improved handling for procedures/packages (e.g. procedure calls are updated when a procedure is moved from one package to another)
* “rc.setOption” to set a majority of the program options temporarily for selected test cases or parts thereof
* Extended tutorial with two new main chapters and several optimizations:
o Dealing with AJAX elements in a test-suite
o Dependencies – Automatically ensuring correct prerequisites for each Test-case
* Enhanced and simpified manual
* Enhanced support for modal dialogs (opened using javascript:window.showModalDialog(…))
* For java version 1.6 an higher java applets which are embedded in web pages are displayed correctly
* Enhanced run-log (stacktrace of initialized variables is attached to run-log if errors occur; makes it easier to find errors in test scripts)
* New runcontext procedures (skipTestSet, skipTestCase, stopTestSet, stopTestCase)
* Support for relative procedure calls
* Enhanced web2test daemon (daemon.startRemoteSUT(),daemon.ping())
